Celia Lowenthal is a New York-based illustrator and comics writer/artist often noted for her twin penchants for pattern and puffy period sleeves. Her primary inspirations are textiles, historical costume, and the problems of anxious masculinity in Hamlet.
She graduated summa cum laude from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2016, with a BFA in Illustration and a minor in Literary Studies. She was the 2015 recipient of the Will Eisner Scholarship Award from the Society of Illustrators.
Her clients have included Devolver Digital, BOOM! Studios, Pixel Titans, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., Clip Studio Paint (c) CELSYS Inc., Dandelion Wine Collective, The Adventure Company L.L.C., and Light Grey Art Lab.
